As far as I know, there is no way to prevent fields that are not filled in from being displayed in submission mails and PDFs. So I am posting the fact that date picker fields always output the date of the current day here as a bug. The reason is obvious: If these fields were not filled in, they should not output any value. Otherwise, it falsely looks as if a date picker field has been filled in by the user with the current date, even if this is not the case. This means that notification emails and PDFs contain values that are not correct.
Is there already a way to work around this problem? If not, I think it is very important to set it up so that date picker fields in notification mails and PDFs do not output any values if they were not filled in. Otherwise, date picker fields cannot be used at all when notifications and/or PDFs are required, because unfilled fields will be output with values that the user has never specified. That is a major issue for me and probably anyone else that want to use date picker fields with notifications or PDFs. So I think this needs to be fixed urgently.
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.
We’ve investigated and found that in Bit Form, if the date field is left empty, the system defaults to using the current date in emails and PDFs.
